The 2009 KEEN Boater – X Masters is one of the top races of its kind in the world.  Once again this years event is “by paddlers, for paddlers.”  We look forward to welcoming paddlers and visitors from all over the world for two days of exciting kayaking on the White Lütschine, in the Lauterbrunnen  Valley.  This years event includes the head-to-head boater X race, team race, and the freewheel competition.  The Boater X is the 2nd Swiss Championship in this kayak discipline.

The 2009 KEEN Boater – X Masters is a side event to the 2009 ICF Freestyle World Championships in Thun.  All kayakers with the appropriate skill level (confident Class V- paddler) are welcome to participate.

The Competitions

Boater X Masters: 4 paddlers race head to head over a 6 meter waterfall and down a 200m stretch of class V whitewater.  The two fastest from each heat move on to the next round.

Freewheel Competition: Who can throw the best trick over the 6 meter waterfall of the white lütschine.

Team Race: Teams of four race together to be the quickest to paddle a longer section of the river.  All team members must maintain visual contact with each other for the duration of this down river race.
